Sofia Elizabeth Raymond is the daughter of American media personality Soledad O’Brien. She was born on October 23, 2000, to her parents, Soledad and Bradley Raymond. Sofia has three younger siblings Cecilia, Jackson, and Charles Raymond.

Sofia’s mother worked as a reporter before hosting the morning show, The Site, on MSNBC. She also co-anchored Weekend Today with David Bloom before moving to CNN in 2003.

While working with CNN, she started as co-anchor for the American Morning program until it was canceled in 2012, and became the anchor of Starting Point. In 2013, Sofia’s mother left CNN for Starfish Media Group production company.

Sofia’s mother mutually agreed with CNN to leave the company and join her own media group, Starfish Media Group, whose primary goal is to uncover and produce empowering stories. Starfish signed a deal with HBO, and O’Brien became the correspondent for Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.

Soledad O’Brien started hosting the show Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien in 2016. She also hosted Mysteries & Scandals, a documentary series on Oxygen. For her exemplary work on television, Sofia’s mother has wo several awards, including the Peabody Award. She was inducted into the Delta Sigma Theta sorority in 2011 as an Honorary Member.
