Maria Fernanda Ampudia is the mother of Mexican actress Andrea Garcia. She married actor Andres Garcia in 1974, but they separated a few months later. Things were not working between them, and they had to part ways; their daughter Andrea was born in 1975.
Maria’s Relationship with Her Daughter
Maria Fernanda Ampudia had a terrible relationship with her daughter Andrea, and they didn’t see much of each other. In 2018, Andrea Garcia disappeared for some time because of her tension with her mother. People speculated that she was in danger, and her father raised the issue on the internet, and then she reappeared, saying that she was okay.
Maria is not close to her daughter and only looks for her when she is in trouble. Some time back, she was diagnosed with cancer, and she did everything to get in contact with her daughter despite their poor relationship.

Maria’s ex-husband has had his fair share of women; he claims he has been in romantic relationships with many women, and she likes the younger ones. Andres Garcia has been married four times in his lifetime, first to actress Sandra Vale with whom he had two sons, both actors.
He then married Maria, and they were together for the shortest time. Andres’s third marriage was to Sonia Infante, and they divorced after spending a decade together. In the late 1990s, Maria’s ex-husband started a romantic relationship with Margaret Portillo, but they ended it in 2018.
Andres Garcia has also dated younger women, and he would have loved to get married to one at this point in his life.
Life After Separation
After separating from Andres Garcia, life was not easy with Maria Fernanda Ampudia. However, it is unclear if she remarried or not. Even after taking care of her daughter on her own, they don’t have a good relationship, and funny enough Andres excluded his only daughter from his will. Maria has been struggling with her issues, though her cancer issue has been enormous as she tried to reach out to her family members.
Her Ex-Husband’s Health Issues
In April 2022, Andres joked that the press said that his romantic relationship with a younger beautiful lady called Karely Ruiz was the reason he ended up at the hospital. However, later that year, his wife Margaret noted that her husband had pneumonia, his oxygen levels were low, and he could not do well without the oxygen tanks.
Maria’s ex-husband has been hospitalized severally, and he was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis because of his heavy drinking. On his latest hospital admission, his doctors revealed that he had overdosed, making it hard for him to heal quickly; on top of that, he had pneumonia and was not in perfect health. His wife Margaret pleaded with his fans to pray for the actor.
Andres Garcia had also tried to end his life, claiming that the pain he was going through was enormous. Though not in perfect health, Garcia is still living his life and trying to enjoy the days he has left.
