has a sister named Isolda Pineda Kahlo, born in 1929. At the age of 18 Antonio decided to use his mother’s name rather than his father’s name. His father left his mother after his birth. Antonio died in the year 1974 and Cristina died on 8 February 1964.

Cristina Kahlo y Calderón was born June 7, 1908, to Guillermo Kahlo and Matilde Calderón González and was the youngest daughter of the Kahlo family. Her father worked as a photographer. Cristina grew up with her three sisters, Frida Kahlo (born on 6 July 1907), Adriana Kahlo Calderón and Matilde Kahlo Calderón, and one brother, Wilhelm Kahlo y Calderón. Her father was previously married to Maria Cardeña Espiña and had two daughters with her, María Luisa Kahlo and Margarita Kahlo y Cardeña.
