John Dale Sarsgaard is the father of American actor Peter Sarsgaard. He was an Air Force engineer and worked at the Scott Air Force Base in St, Clair County, Illinois, when his son Peter was born. John was born on March 12, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States of America.
Personal Life
Regarding his personal life, John Dale Sarsgaard married Judy Lea Reinhardt, and during their time together, they used to move around so often because of the nature of John’s work. Judy was a supportive and understanding wife as she moved with her husband wherever he went. Unfortunately, John’s wife passed away in 2009.
Professional Career
Professional John Dale Sarsgaard worked as an Air Force engineer; after that, he moved to IBM and Monsanto, where he worked until he retired. John was a hardworking individual and did all he could to ensure his family had food on the table.

When John’s son was young, he wanted to become a soccer player; however, he suffered several concussions while playing the game and gave up the sport. Peter moved his attention to theatre works. After his college education, Peter Sarsgaard moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. At first, John’s son landed guest roles on the television shows Law & Order and New York Undercover.
In 1999, Peter landed a role in Boys Don’t Cry, where he portrayed killer John Lotter. The movie was based on the real-life story of Brandon Teena, a transgender person who was raped and brutally murdered in 1993. He received positive criticism for his performance and became more popular; John’s son said that he felt empowered when he played the role of John Lotter in the movie.

He dated dancer Dita Von Teese for a while, then Shalom Harlow. Peter also dated one of his college friends, who became a photographer called Malerie Marder.
Peter is a close friend of actor Jake Gyllenhall; through him, he knew Maggie Gyllenhall, Jake’s sister. They met in 2002 and started dating; four years later, they announced their engagement months before their firstborn daughter was born. The two love birds tied the knot in a small ceremony attended by family and friends in Brindisi, Italy, on May 2, 2009.
Peter and his wife have been in a romantic relationship for over 20 years and are blessed with two beautiful daughters.
