Biography
Horace Logan White was born about 30 May 1899 in Negaunee Township, Michigan, to Christian and Etta (Lundy) White. His family lived in Michigan when he was born, but they moved to Wisconsin by the following year. It’s unclear where Horace was in the 1910 Census. [1]
He was a World War I veteran. He enlisted on 7 December 1917 and was discharged on 23 June 1919. [2] [3]
After his service, Horace moved back to his parent’s home in Chicago. [4] On 17 February 1921, he married Tess Cachikis. [5] Their daughter Betty Marion White was born in January of the following year. [6] Horace was working as a purchasing agent, living at 218 Pleasant, Oak Park, Cook, Illinois, in 1922, with their wife, Tess. [7] The family moved to California when Betty was still very young. The family lived in Alhambra for a time and eventually moved to West Los Angeles. [8] [9] Horace was a sales representative for the Crouse-Hinds Company, which makes traffic signals and other related products. [10]
He died on 16 November 1963. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.
